It seems like yesterday...I discovered my interest for birth when I was a little girl, watching the pregnant women and coaches come into our home every week to learn how to give birth and how to prepare for parenthood. I grew up in a suburb of Chicago where my mom was a childbirth educator and taught classes in our home every week. I was 15 years old when I watched my youngest sibling come into this world and it was at that moment that I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to motherhood and babies in some way. Several years later I married my husband Anthony, and then gave birth to our three children (and of course supported by my own Doula!).
The incredible experience of having my own Birth Doula at my side inspired me to follow my passion. I am trained and certified with DONA International as a Birth Doula and have the utmost respect for proper childbirth support. I have personal experience with a cesarean section birth as well as a two VBACs, one medicated and one natural un-medicated birth. I feel that every woman during childbirth and motherhood need to have an attentive, compassionate, present support team. I believe that there is nothing more magical than watching a woman give birth to a new little person coming into our world and honored that each of my clients have chosen me to share and empower them through the most incredible experience(s) of their life.
I am located in Phoenix, Arizona and service the greater Phoenix metropolitan area at all hospitals, birth centers and home births. Several local hospitals require Birth Doulas to be certified and registered with them in order to be present at a birth. I am certified and registered at all of the hospitals that require this.
If you are deciding if a doula is right for you, I offer complimentary meet and greets to answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to contact me to set one up.
